The game to go put Turbo above the Ironmen, for the second bid to Orlando.

Message came from Julie Cook, who has been the
Mixed SC for several years.
This topic affects where Fayetteville plays for Sectionals and Regional.
There may well end up being a proposal submitted to the UPA to DISSOLVE the GULF COAST SECTION, sending AR either to the CENTRAL REGION, or
into a SECTION THAT INCLUDES TEXAS.
If you have an opinion, please voice it, as your other 2 SC's live right here, Wayne is SC for the OPEN, and Joy is SC for the WOMEN'S.

If you have a particular issue you would like addressed, please contact one of the officers (phone or email),
so we can get it on the agenda and be prepared.
Also, we will set a Holiday Skate Date if there is enough interest (it is a bit of an FDA tradition, ya'll).

The UPA Board of Directors Election
is an event that has a great
deal of impact on you as a UPA member. Participating in the
election of the members of the Board is your chance to make
an impact on the sport of Ultimate at a broad level!
The Board of Directors oversees the UPA by setting policy
and defining strategy. The Board is ultimately responsible
for ensuring that the organization achieves its mission,
and that it is working in the best interests of all of our
members. The most effective tools the Board has to protect
the interests of the members are our ability to formulate
strategy and set policy on issues facing the organization.
With that in mind, the Nominating Committee presents to you,
the UPA membership, the candidates for the 2004 election
(2005-2007 term), and asks you to vote for those who will
best serve ultimate and the UPA. Please log onto the UPA's
online election tool BEFORE MIDNIGHT OCTOBER 31st to vote!

ULTIMATE on TV!!!
Posted 6/5/03
Hello everyone:
Just thought that I would let you know that the first CSTV show is scheduled to air on Wednesday June 18th at 7:30 p.m. eastern. Not sure which semifinal match will be featured in the first segment, but regardless it will be a treat to watch. Just so you are all aware, there will be no professional commentators – the entire show will be told by the athletes, the coaches and through game footage. If all goes according to plan, the series should provide great promotion for our sport…
In order to see it you are going to need to find a sports bar or neighbor who has the Direct TV sports package.
Just so everyone knows, Tommy Proulx is absolutely THE person who is responsible for UPA and the CTSV team being able to pull this off. His stamina was incredible and his ability to make things happen was amazing. I personally owe him a huge debt of gratitude…

Kid's Triathlon ~ Saturday, 9/7/02.
9/4/02
The Kid's Triathlon is an FDA event to help raise funds for our club. This community involvement event is planned to help get kids involved in outdoor activities, and enjoy their summer.
The triathlon is at the Fayetteville Athletic Club, on the corner of
Zion and 265. Please show up at 7:00 for volunteer check in, a bit of
quick training, coffee and a pastry.
Volunteer parking is at the Elks
club across 265 from the FAC. All other parking is reserved for FAC
members and participants. All volunteers should get a T shirt, and I
ordered some extra mediums. However, show up on time to guarantee your
shirt size!
Most of the jobs will be safety related: keeping the kids on track,
keeping the parents where they belong. We hope to be finished between
10 and 11 am.
If you want to volunteer your time, or have any questions, contact me @ 582-2308.
We'll see you Saturday morning.

FDA vs Ludicrous Speed Scrimmage
Round I:
March 30th SAT 10:00 - 12:00 @ Marshalltown Tools
FDA 15 - Ludicrous 11
Though both teams began with low numbers, as the morning wore on, the FDA
squad grew exponentially. Ludicrous topped out it's line-up with 8 players, FDA ended with around 21.
In the first half, Ludicrous received the pull and scored first, but the FDA answered
quickly and the teams battled point-for-point, until the "Daddies" squeezed in two in a row to make it 5-4, and then again at 6-5 to
make it 7-5. Ludicrous answered with 2 consecutive of their own to make it 7-7, but
couldn't make it 3, and FDA took half 8-7 in a game to 15.
The second half was tight as well with the FDA starting offensively and scoring 9-7. Another
unanswered point gave them the lead 10-7. Ludicrous got their breath scoring 8-10, 9-10, and 10-10.
FDA used a timeout and scored 11-10, 12-10, 13-10, before Ludicrous could find the sweet spot and put one
in to make it 11-13. Ludicrous used their last time out but could not force in another point
and the FDA took the next 2 points quickly to end the game 15-11.
Thanks to everyone who showed their spirit and shared the love. We all look forward to the next one.

As B Pool champs, they were awarded an ice-cold collection of Fosters. Congratulations to team captain Daniel Marsh and the rest of the Ludicrous crew!
F.I.R.E. played a challenging game on Sunday against Crave from Manitoba, but were unable to defeat the crafty Canadians in Semi Finals.
