FDA Meeting Minutes

Location: Hog House Brewery

Present: Phil Watson, Stevie Bown, Casey Kleinhenz, Andy Dunn, Adam Rohde, Rosie Reese, Eric Kearney

7:15 – Meeting called to order.

ITEM 1- REVIEW OF WINTER LEAGUE

Members were happy with the start date and number of teams in league. Number of teams next year may adjust if registration increases/decreases. Still complaints about supplemental draft, but Casey liked the hat draft and will probably use for summer league as well. Thanks to Phil and Karl for helping the tournament run smoothly.

Action: Casey will write a league/tourney ÒrecipeÓ to help league run smoothly next year.

ITEM 2- DAN GABOR

DG will be on Lewis-Asbell Fields on May 29th. Bids are $135 and registration is limited to 20 teams. The party will be at Hog Haus, but we will have pizza on the fields delivered by Damgoode Pies. Spending money with them may help secure them as a 2011 Winter League sponsor. Kevin Henley submitted a disc design that is pretty good, but design submission is still open. The number of discs to order for the tournament was decided to go from 50-100. Discussed whether or not raffle should be done this year.

Action: Stevie will work to secure Hog Haus for party and Damn Goode pies to supply pizza at fields, Rhode and Stevie set up date to talk about donations/raffle prizes for Dan Gabor

ITEM 3- ADA/SUMMER LEAGUE

Youth soccer ends on April 17th and starts up again on August 28th. The interim period is time for ADA and Summer League. It is okay for ADA and SL to overlap because games are on weeknights. Summer League is tentatively scheduled to begin during the week of June 20th and end during the week of August 8th. The tournament will be on Saturday, August 14th or August 21st. FDA is not running ADA, but should check in with Jacob/Jody to be sure schedules donÕt conflict.

Soccer kids are off the fields after Harvest Moon. It would be possible to organize a November-December league. Keep in mind that there is no daylight in the evening and weather can be pretty bad.

Action: Casey will check in w/ ADA organizers regarding summer league and look into Fall league feasibility.

ITEM 4- HARVEST MOON

HM is scheduled for November 6&7. Keep looking for additional field space for 5 team pools (4 fields) we would like to keep growing the tourney. The number of teams and entry fee is tabled till next meeting, the number of fields we can get will be a determinate.  Party will be at GeorgeÕs Majestic (18+) and pre-party (Friday night) will be at Damgoode Pies. Looking for 2 bands for the party. Prefer local and funky.  Rohde and Stevie are going to FHS to ask art teachers to have their classes design discs.

Action: Stevie will begin narrowing down bands for Harvest, Rhode and Stevie will speak with FHS for design, EC will begin looking at alternate field sites

OTHER BUISNESS

-Andy will check if FDA needs to file a federal tax return.
