Fayetteville Disc Association Meeting 1/17/2010

Present: Phil, Stevie, Casey, Rosie, Matt K., Andy, Rhode

Winter League 2010

- Discussed the supplemental draft- idea that instead of doing it weekly, have a whole new draft a couple weeks after league starts for the players that did not sign up in order to encourage people to sign up early

- Dog leash rule: has to be on leashes during play, if this does not improve, we will have to ban dogs from WL, Casey will notify captains

- Tournament Format: same as last year, have tournament at Gary Hampton

- The city will now line the fields for a certain fee (amount?)

- Party at Hog Haus (to use sponsor) , budget discussed

- Will have Winter League Olympics

- Discussed WL awards, same categories as last year

Dan Gabor

- Discussed what to do Dan Gabor scholarship, possibly having a rookie of the year award for college.

- Discussed making it an open tournament to bring more teams? Decided to postpone this discussion and keep format same as last year

- Get disc design initiated

- Get city to line fields

Summer League and ADA

- Discussed who was running ADA this year, Casey will speak with Jacob to see if he had plans to, FDA will run it if no one else is, will get sponsor

Fall League

- Discussed different formats to use, possibility make it a series of hat tournaments

- Have in Bentonville to promote growth there?

Harvest

- Date: set for November 6-7 (away game that weekend)

- Party possibly at George’s, Phil will inquire

- Design: Rhode will go and speak with high school about having a design contest with a 50$ prize

- Be on the look out for a local band

Women's Scrimmage

- Rosie and Stevie work to get more women’s scrimmages put together to promote more growth for women’s ultimate, have monthly? Biweekly?  Possibly minicamps
