Fayetteville Disc Association Executive Committee Meeting Date: January 18, 2003 Location: West Mountain Brewery Call to Order @ 6:20pm Officers In Attendance: President: Phil Watson Vice-President: David Gottschalk Public Relations: Amy Eversole Tournament Coordinator/Social Chair: Liz O'Connell Treasurer: Jon Bitler I. Reading of the minutes by David Gottschalk from 12/23/03 ~ brief discussions on: Kid’s tri, newsletter(stress updated calendar), fields, sponsors, Springfest, t-shirts for sponsors, Art Show in November.... II. Treasurer's Report: Jon Bitler a. Not sure of exact amount because have not had time to complete all of the research: Checking @ $4,000.00 and Savings @ $4000.00 b. Check for Harvest T-shirts has not cleared yet. Will cancel and issue new check. Amount is around $2,500? c. Dan Gabor needs to be caught up. No scholarship donation has been made for two years. 1. Amy made a motion to donate $1,500 a year that we are behind. Phillip opened for discussion. Jon has no idea what had been made from the two tournaments but will find out. Discussion of setting a goal to be met through tournament. Jon made a motion to find out how much we have made from the two past tournaments. Liz second. III. Winter league party a. Amy will check to see how much is the Orpheum. Other locations are discussed including renting tents,Smokehouse (Phillip will check on cost) could be $200. b. It was decided that two kegs will be purchased for the party. Liz mentioned that we never finish the second keg. c. Music was brought up with the possibility of a jam session. d. Party will be Saturday February 28. Start between 7-8 pm. e. Further dicussion of Beer, Pizza and Tents at Marshaltown IV. Discussion of Girdy. ~ Sold to relative of Phillip V. Discussion of Winter League Party part 2 a. Phillip will get quotes from Dickson Street Theatre b. Hunter will get quotes for tents. Possible 10x10 tent rental for Springfest. c. Discussion of minors drinking. 1. Need to get bracelets/markers etc. 2. Possible site could be JR’s because they would work the door and assume liability 3. Liz brought up that we might be able to guarantee a summer league/winter league combo if we get a good price at a location VI. Next officers meeting a. Feb. 29th 5 pm at Pesto Cafe b. We will be looking for volunteers c. Should be a general meeting VII. Motion to purchase artist canvas a. Phillip makes the motion b. Will discuss in a moment VIII. When is summer league/ a. Tuesday or Sunday? b. should we have a survey? c. question as to how long will Lewis field exist before being turned into apartments. IX. Phillips turns floor over to Amy a. Amy makes motion to pay John Schmuecker for water bottles. Liz seconds. Bitler is late but still seconds. Writes check. b. Amy asks that Oklahoma team be refunded $75.00 for food not consumed at Harvest. Oklahoma B team receive $75.00 discount off of next year registration fee. c.Art show is discussed. Praises go to Kelly with the idea of giving local artist canvas in return for a finished piece of art. Canvas could run $20-$25. XI. Discussion of Disc art a. need to speak to artist b. need to incorporate FDA logo somewhere on disc. XII. Amy needs names and addresses for newsletter listing ~ Amy also brought up idea of posting personal notices which could include births, etc. in newsletter XIII. Phillip concludes meeting ~ 4:53 pm
