Standing committee report:

Adopt a Park (WR) - Lisa Paschal will contact us with information.

Fields (PW) - Scraping, dirt movement, and prep work will begin soon. Motion was made to sprig any and at least three fields during the first part of May providing it doesnšt cost more than $2000. pro - PW, BL con - JB, MM; pro - WR. Bermuda is the grass of choice with filler grass. The old couch that is out there needs to be removed. PW recommended a 4š water pump that cost $1,900 and can pump 36,000 gallons/hr. For mowing, PW recommended we look at a fairway mower from Lowešs. It has a 12š cutting span and costs $1000, which can be paid off over a 4 month period. It can be pulled by a 14.4hp riding lawnmower which will be another FDA investment. The riding lawn mower will also cost $1000 and has a one year warranty from Lowešs. PW has talk to the manager and payments can be made after harvest. No final decisions were made on the subjects, just discussion. PW has also been talking to local businesses about financial backing for the fields project.

Newsletter (MM) - Volume five, issue one of the FDA newsletter will be mailed out on March 17th, 2001. Arcom printing gave us a customer discount for 100 copies at $48.44. A motion was made by PW to allow previous members whose dues have expired to receive this issue only unless they renew their membership. JB seconded, passed unanimously.

Web site (WR) - Our web site is now located on arkansas.net server. There was a registration/transfer fee of$25, domain activation fee of $50, and monthly housing at $15 for 5MB of storage. Total cost for the year (until next March) is $255. Bill will be sent to our PO box.

Dan Gabor (WR) - Mike Chapman and Liz OšConnell volunteered to be party coordinators. Georgešs is the venue, the Tares will be playing inside, and wešre still booking the band for the outside. Joe Fennell of Joseš has committed to donating the $300 to pay for the fields again. Heath, Paul, and Dave Wise have volunteered to help out.

Harvest Moon (BL) - discussion about the size of Georgešs being too small for the party was introduced. BL is to find a party coordinator and have a good idea about bands and venue by next meeting. Cowslingers and Grandpašs Goodtime Fandango have been mentioned.

Unfinished business
Fundraising:

Springfest (MM) - Josh Hess has volunteered to help organize the FDA booth at Springfest. Fish should be providing all he did last year (tent, tables, mixer, cups, straws. WR is checking on the fruit to be donated and outlook is positive. JB will have leftover merchandise there for sale. total cost for booth and permits for Springfest is $135.

Art sale (MM) - PW will be getting in touch with Cary or Cindy Arsaga to solidify the dates and details. More detailed update at general meeting.

Pipe and Engine (PW) - WR is to check on getting a trailer to park to store pipes and lawn equipment. PW will talk to Marshalltown or city about parking trailer in cul de sac. PW recommended we get in contact with ŗRay˛, the gentleman who sold us the engine, and see if he will give us some help running the engine or consider buying it back. An outstanding debt is owed to Mike Watson for $700 for 20 hours of shop time on the pipes, however PW informed him we would not be allocating any funds for that specific note until after harvest moon.
