Meeting minutes January 11th, 2001

Treasurer¹s report (JB) - reported that $500 was paid to Johnny-on-the-spot and we will no longer use their services. PW reported he know of a company whose base rate was cheaper, we¹ll get six units for $350 instead of five for $500. they will drop them off and pick them up according to our schedule¹ will pump twice that weekend, and it¹s all 100% recycled product (yuck). JB recommended tat we look into using this company further. $650 dollars was raised for winter league via sponsors. Total cost for shirts for winter league is $720 (20 shirts per team.) JB will be responsible for collection player¹s winter league & FDA dues. JB is getting discounts from area merchants for FDA members, none to date.

Standing committee reports

Adopt a Park (WR) - the city has not engaged in any activity that we can assist in because of cold and wet conditions. Lisa Paschal of the parks and Recreation will contact WR when something is available.

Fields (PW) - An outlined budget is being worked up for the fields, most everything is lined up except moving dirt and PW is working with Basic construction and Lindsey. At least $4000 funding is needed for fields. When the dirt is moved we can prep field with sand, but that will require big donations. Cheaper sand is $100 per ton and it takes 1/4 to 1/2² of sand per field, & sprig are $75 per field. PW recommended that we don¹t use sand due to costs. Bermuda grass and existing seed and the fields already planted will need minimum prep for Harvest. PW made the motion that we don't play on good fields until Harvest. JB seconded. Passed unanimously.

Newsletter (MM) - distributed time line for articles due for newsletter. Dave Wise will assist in editing. Arcom will be printing newsletters. Sponsors and ideas for the newsletter should be reported for newsletter.

Web site (WR) - Ben Welch-Bolen comes back in town on January 6th, 2001. MM recommends we add keywords that can be accessed by search engines. Nothing should be posted without her approval.

Winter league (BL) - draft was successful. Games on sunday starting at 11:00, two games being time capped. Liz O¹Connell will be party coordinator. JB is taking care of sponsors and captains are responsible for dues.

Unfinished business

damaged pipe - Phil recommended that we hang on to it al little while longer to see off it comes in use this summer; we may be able to splice some pieces together.

inventory - WR volunteered to attempt an inventory for the FDA material possessions engine and pump - WR said he would look into getting a trailer or some type of storage for these big items

fundraising - MM volunteered to et all the details on getting a booth and WR volunteered to checking on a raffle prize. The goal is %500. All agree we need more ideas on raising money adj 9:25
