Meeting minutes December 30, 2001
Call to order - 12/30/02 @ 5:15 p.m.., Tiny Tim’s Pizza/West Mt. Brewery
welcome new officers
Approval of minutes from November 18, 2001 meeting
Treasurer’s Report - Biter -
$8,790 in checking and $1900 in savings (mostly DG)
Loan recommendations for 2002 - owe 21 payments of $313.41, final payment 10/03.
Waiting to pay lump sum until we know how much Lance may need for fields project.
Sponsorship for winter league - talked to Gazis and OBC.
Membership - expires Jan 31st - motion to raise league fees from $10 to $15 per person.
Passed unanimously. FDA dues will remain $10 per person and $25 for family (3 kinfolk or more)
memberships.
Winter league T-shirts - 6 different colors. ordering >144 @ $4.56/shirt. Jon needs artwork by Jan. 7.
Scheduled to be printed on or before Jan. 10th.
VP Report - Lance -
Marshalltown project - Lance going out to check on fields and will return with time line and recommendations.
Adopt a Park - He is contacting Lisa Paschal at the city in regards to the program and what we can do.
Tournament Coordinators Report - Bygod -
Winter league will begin on Jan. 13th. six teams. First game at 11 o’clock and second game at 1 o’clock.
Game location still to be decided. Tournament will either be Feb. 17th or 24th, to be decided by the captains.
Checking on party at George’s; band to be Mid-life Crisis (old rock n roll by Beth Clagget’s kinfolk). Draft on
Thursday 7 p.m.
Dan Gabor - Wayne to TD.
Will to start reading suggestions for next year Harvest.
Public Relations Report - Wayne -
First two newsletter articles due 3/1/02 and 5/31/02. Newsletters to be mailed 3/4/02 & 6/3/02.
Get more articles from members and humorous stuff. suggestion to put a rule and officers contacts in each
newsletter.
Old business
$250.00 UPA check. Amy contacting UPA for other half of $500.00 grant.
Michael Watson - Motion made to give him $350.00 and see what happens. 3 for, 1 against (JB).
Letter to flyers - copy to be sent to city
DG Check - Wayne and Jon to contact Dr. Zach and get press coverage.
New business -
Fundraising -
“Chance to Win” Tickets- Still like the idea, but all agree it would be hard to sell tickets
Slave auction @ winter league party - auction off volunteers for proceeds to the FDA. “Slaves”
agree to volunteer a set amount of time (ie. 8 hours) to highest bidder. Highest bidder makes
arrangement with volunteer for time to meet.
Art show to be done again. Amy to ask Kellie Rollins to coordinate.
Bitler know a gent in Farmington who wants to put on a race. FDA would supply workers to help set up
and maintain event. To get more info.
Springfest - need warm or hot product in case it is cold. Electricity forces us to be at top of street and
not in middle of Dickson.
Announcements - next meeting Jan 30th. Location TBA.
