General Meeting minutes 03/17/02

Call to order - 3/17/02 @ 3:20 p.m., Tiny Tims Pizza / West Mt. Brewery
Approval of agenda for 3/17/02 general meeting - passed unanimously

Treasurers Report - Biter - Current balance is $10,381.76.
Membership dues / cards - All distributed during winter league. Please visit sponsors.
Fundraising ideas -
Art Show - Kellie had idea to have one piece of art auctioned every month at block street Arsagas. She will get a piece of art to be auctioned off silently each month. big thanks to Kellie.
Kids triathlon - Lots of questions on the realities of the race (promotion, actual volunteers,etc.), EC made note of all these questions and will address Chip, race director at next ec meeting.
Springfest - deferring to waynes report

VP Report - Lance - Marshalltown project - Lance got all of Phils information and bermuda will be expensive, as we have known. we will still need a pump and we need to get the rest of the pipe in the trailer. We have an outstanding killing field fee ($160). We will start as soon as possible after the last frost (april 1st).
Adopt a Park - 1 down and 4 to go. Thanks to all for their help with the park clean up. Tree planting on april 6th at 9:30 - 10 am, April 6th.
Practice - tuesday and thursday 5-7 pm, Sunday 11-3 am till the end of may. Planning on extending times as the day get longer.

Tournament Coordinators Report - Bygod -
DGS7 02 - Playing at the hidden valley the goat fields.
Summer league - expand it to 10 weeks, 1 game per week ( longer games, 21 points or so). start mid June - early August. fields yet to be announced. jon volunteered that summer league would be sponsored entirely by Tiny Tims Pizza / West Mountain Brew co. Much gratitude given.
Harvest Moon - John Schmuecker to be mens TD this year and Liz O Connell to be womens director. Harvest to be held weekend of November 2nd due to football game and ultimate nationals the weekend before. Jeff F. to party coordinator. Looking for design ideas from anyone.

Public Relations Report - Wayne -
DGS7 01 scholarship payment - Check passed by Amy, Wayne, and Jon. Television interview to be put on web site. Total amount was $1550.00.
DGS7 02 - Looking into Cowslingers or Mothership for party. georgeÕs secured.
Newsletter - John recommended we add the general meeting agenda. noted.
Web site - DGS7 02 section updated. Posting pics from winter league and interview from check passing.
Springfest - Checking to see if George's will let us use their electricity. Wayne to talk to cindy about booth location. Can we sell stuff in georges?
Insurance on tractor - need insurance for value of loan, looking into insurance agents.

No college news due to lack of representative.
