The current fields project (Click for image of planned
field layout)
encompasses the creation of playing fields on the property of Marshalltown Tools in the industrial complex South of
Fayetteville.
Began in 1998, the project involves three sites; two owned by Marshalltown Tools, the third by the City of Fayetteville.
Our plan is to develop this land into our future permanent site for Harvest Moon, Gabor, and leagues.
The Pumpstation Rd. location has been the site for Harvest since 1997. Although not ideal at the time,
this was the only location available to us. Through the efforts begun by Liz O'Connell and carried on by Phillip
Watson and the ensuing Executive Committees over the years, the owners have
agreed to allow us use of the property,
even going as far as granting permission to move earth, grow turf, and care for it as ours.
This site will eventually hold 10 full length Ultimate fields. The current stage involves developing
Fields 1-6, with the dirt moving on fields 7-9 expected to be completed this fall. Field 10 will be the last to be completed
at this location.
The Marshalltown Tools Office has enough space for 3 fields as is, though only 2 are shown on the diagram. The development there will be limited to maintaining
a flat surface, with reseeding of fescue as needed.
Combs Park, under contract to the Ozark RC Flyers, will be the last stage of development. Working with the City of Fayetteville
Parks and Recreation Department, we hope to develop 4 fields. This development will not truly get under way until the city is
finished with the property. It is the current source of top soil for city projects.
